So here's my question - if they're eliminating the "suite" package and eliminating upgrade pricing aren't they killing the current FCP editors who use all of the other suite apps? Currently FCP 7 charges $299 for the upgrade. So if they're eliminating the upgrade price and I want to upgrade 3 of my systems I have to pay $299 for FCPX and then an additional $700? for the other apps for each system? I've just gone from an upgrade cost of $900 (3 systems) to $3,000!
Please tell me it ain't so!

It isn't my job to educate you on the facts - Read (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States), focusing on the linked statistical breakdowns by ethnicity. You'll have to nose around to find all the data. All that the facts proove is that poor black people with little education who grow up in economically depressed comunnities and are surrounded by crime are more likely to commit crimes

Would they base MacWorld around something as simple as wireless this or that? It's got to be big, probably a new product. I'm still leaning towards the GPS thing. Garmin has already announced it will be at MacWorld with new software/product codenamed "Bobcat"

auto album art fetch isn't working for me, even on manual try. Anyone else having that issue?
I'm having the same problem here. It looks like it's going to work, but then does nothing.
And I know the song is there because I went to make sure it was there when it didn't work the first time.

Yeah - I think that's really odd. In this situation...any company would want to be seen not only to be the source of said info but also be ready with the official response and instructions...
unless it was leaked many hours ahead of apple... or is a bogus story altogether - the latter is unlikely though

I agree and disagree.
agree that the mono mixes are better. but leave the stereo ones alone. they can remaster them if they want... but I dont think the actual mixes should be messed with. I certainly dont trust Sir Paul to be sitting in front of the mixing console saying to George martin "hey, can we turn up the sap?" if all the beatles were alive, maybe. but I'd rather them release the albums with both Stereo and mono mixes on them. like Beach boys did with Pet sounds (and its still only 12.99)

Finally beat the game with a buddy online. My opinion: story blows. Oh no, another so very mellow suicide attempt to help the group. There was no emotion to the deaths of the members. It just happened, and we moved on, forgot about it, and press another random button or find ourselves at another random location after the last level. I just fell from the sky into the mountains....now I have walked to the nearest city, where my team happens to be..... Also last level just does not work with the rest of the games damage characteristics.
As far as gameplay, just another Halo, much better for multiplayer. I think all previous Halo multiplayer maps should be added.

Interesting.....powerbooks and ibooks sold through this month but not the batteries in the Macbook or Macbook Pro....I'm thinking the newer batteries (for MBP and MB) are OK because they use Li-Poly cells instead of Li-Ion.

How very strange. I can not believe a store that sells telephones, MP3 players, Digital Cameras, video games, eReaders, GPS devices, TVs, dvd players, Apple iPods, laptops, and tablets would carry the Apple iPad.

The notion that "pro editing" can belong to just about anyone, rather than an exclusive circle of elites, poses an existential crisis. The announcement sheds light on a future in which their "advanced", learned techniques are no longer advantageous. The "industry pros" are facing the plight of impending impotence. I think you're overstating this "existential crisis".
There's a lot of skill behind what professional editors do. You don't just pick up the same set of brushes and achieve what Monet or Picasso did ... The divide between professional and amateur will still exist even with the same toolset.
I'm loving the new look/style/features though will await further clarification and a quiet month before I upgrade my previous version.
