I find it hard to believe that anyone doesnt already have any Beatles tunes they want already.
Still if its good PR for Apple and further marginalises the zoon, thats OK by me.

...you could say that about 50% of the artists that are already on iTunes.

AT&T still has people on $30 unlimited because they are grandfathered in. So will VZW, if they actually change the plans.

Ah good to see that it's not worth upgrading my Core Duo MB to the new one, I think the speed increase wil lbe negligble (comparing a 1.83Ghz CD with 1.83C2D)

Yeah the benefit for C2D is the bigger cache size mostly. That's only available on 2GHz and up AFAIK.

I'd still rather have the new potentially bug fixed hardware though.

Holy moley, you mean it starts downloading cover art without asking or letting you turn that off? I don't want cover art, and I sure as heck don't want to use up bandwidth on my connection for cover art downloads, much less send out reports on what I care to keep in my playlists.

There seem to be varying reports of the serial numbers affected, and Apple's site seems dead right now. I'm hoping my battery IS affected, because I was getting close to ordering a new battery, as my year-and three month old battery is down to 25% of it's original capacity after 440 load cycles.

The site was up briefly and claimed 4-6 weeks for the new battery to ship. That's a LONG time to go without a battery.

Yea, but they send you the new one while you use the old one. And considering the capacity of your old battery, you probably live off the power adapter a lot anyway.

And they've probably got to manufacture a bunch of new batteries for this.

iTunes now provides access to an "Album Artist" tag which should help keep those duets and other collaborations in line without having to declare them as compilations.

The cover art view sounds interesting, but I�ll have to see it for myself. Other than that, not too much else of interest to me, mostly because I don�t live in the States and therefore don�t have access to TV shows on iTunes, let alone movies. :rolleyes: :cool:

Let�s hope Apple fixes some of that so that I can actually make good use out of that iTV thing when it is released next year� ;)

Doesn't matter. I think the script they were using was broken anyway. I tried to enter my affected serial number a bunch of ways and it wouldn't accept it. My guess is that they took the site down to fix the issue.

Or it could be because the story hit the front page of Digg :)
