Instant classic. Well played, Apple. Well played.

Great, That's the guy who "redesigned" iMovie and screwed it up.
He's also the guy who designed FCP in the first place!
I edit professionally and I am stoked by what I have seen so far. Anything that makes my life easier is a good thing. I'm glad it is cheaper, although nothing has been said about the other apps such as STP and Motion, or even Color. As others have said, just because amateurs can afford the software, it doesn't mean that they can use it well.

For those that are unfamiliar with Wal-Marts business practices I recommend you watch Frontline's Is Wal-Mart Good For America? (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/walmart/)
It's a great documentary. You can watch it online for free using RealPlayer.
there is also another one: the high cost of wal mart.

LMAO, what did you think this was going to be? Drop a few bombs and disappear? The talk now is that these Rebels fighting Gaddafi have plenty of Al Qaeda in their ranks. This is not going to be a quick in-n-out. Obama's illegal war will be his legacy (well, that and his failed socialized medicine scheme).
Well, I'm certainly glad you're not letting blind partisanship guide your thinking... Oy.

I think maybe a bunch of air themed releases
New laptop light as air
with built in 3G chip to get data over the air
Itunes movie rentals, updated apple tv, and slingbox for iphone is on the air
current iphone gets improved bluetooth for listening over the air, Google maps gets triangulation for getting location over the air, Starbucks lets you order coffee over the air
New iPhones will have 3G to let you download faster over the air and GPRS for getting your location over the air.
New and current iPhone to be able to make calls over wifi

they had the nerve to sue apple over and over, jobs named apple apple as a tribute... and they were supposed to be about peace and love... and you are defenfending them... they are greedy bastards and they reaped what they sow

Well, I FINALLY got it to go through, only to have it say that my serial numbers aren't affected. Which, according to their page, they are. Looks like Apple has some work to do...

Let see the fanboys defend this:
Rogue Amoeba has said they will no longer develop iPhone apps and will concentrate on the Mac. It had taken three months for Apple to release a bug fix. Does Rogue Amoeba suck too?

I meant when they do put caps on.
By the way I use like 2 gigs a week on AT&T and they leave me alone
They just capped us home and business owners (DSL and Fiber)...
I would imagine that wireless will follow. AT&T and Verizon will have to honor contracts for the time being. But when the contract is over...

Conroe or Merom? I can't find that on the Apple webpage...
EDIT: And the 24-incher still has the chin... I was hoping for a sleeker chinless model (not that I am buying one anyways - can't afford it right now) :(

Yes but it does clearly state Core 2 Duo in the product name and the release date of 13th November, they could have just copied the spec of the existing one as they are unsure of the new spec. What is telling is the date, they obviously expect it to happen on the 13th
 that wasn't the point

Having spent a fair amount of time living in a rural environment, I would like to add my distaste for Wal-Mart. They move into an area with their "low prices"
and put all the local stores out of business. There are hundreds of little towns in rural areas of the south that have been devastated by the arrival of a Wal-Mart. I have had business dealings with Wal-Mart and I will tell you they do bully suppliers. I had a shipment to them with the standard invoice terms of 2% discount if paid within 10 days or net invoice if paid withing 30 days. Well, Wal-Mart paid in 90 days and took the discount! PLus they gave me a hrad time when I called them on it! I have not shopped with them in over 15 years, and I plan on keeping it that way. The fact that they sell 40% of the DVDs sold during the Christmas buying cycle does give them clout with the studios, and that is unfortunate. However, I believe that volume could be made up elsewhere, so I am not sure that the studio heads would knuckle under. They have more and more been taking a long term view, so that may diminish Wal-Mart's clout. Let us hope so.

Who the hell wants to watch movie on an iPod. You can't even watch 2 hours of video on the current iPod...think...the battery like will be even WORSE with a larger screen?!?!?
I want to watch a movie on an iPod. I have a video iPod that I use frequently and enjoy very much. I even watch movies on it. There are many, many people for varying reasons who want to and do watch movies on their iPod.
I want a merom macbook pro...right now!!!! I might buy a freeken dell if i have to wait any longer...and I hate windows... I am hoping they will update it on the website tomorrow...tues. sept. 5th....not likely though since they will need a new logic boards because they soldered the core duo chips in...how stupid. Hopefully they will make some other updates since they have to re-do stuff anyway.
I also want a new C2D MBP. I can't wait to get one, and as soon as they're available, I'm there. But please, for the love of god and all things holy, if you don't have the patience to wait a while longer, go buy a Dell and relieve us of your tantrums.

it's about friggin time apple build a serious volume manufacturing plant in the US! end of story!
OK they build it. Would YOU work there? I think after screwing the rear cover into my 100,000th iPhone I'd go nuts.

i bought a macbook 2ghz core duo, 1gb, 80gb, superdrive at the apple store this past sunday. it looks like now i could of gotten the core 2 duo with all the other same specs for about $200 cheaper. does anyone know if apple has some sort of exchange policy for situations like this?
Apple has a 14 day return policy, bring it back.
Can't hurt to try, anyway :)

As long as I can turn it off, I don't care. I can see few reasons why 3D would be useful to me in a tablet, but then the iPhone is full of tech that seemed gimmicky to start and was eventually put to good use by innovative devs. It'll take a while before it gets refined enough to be of value, but gotta start sometime.

iStudentUK, I understand what you are saying and agree with some of it. People do tend to develop their own worldview and then pick and choose external sources (religion, social groups, philosophies, etc.) to support the view they have already decided upon.
However, I can't agree that the Bible is "neutral" or relative in that it can correctly be interpreted in any way someone chooses. The Bible is clear in it's express purpose as God's revelation of himself to mankind. The Bible is judged and interpreted against itself using the literary and textual tools of interpretation that we have available to us.
Like all communication it can only be correctly interpreted in light of the intended meaning of it's original author. This is where faith comes into the process. Followers of Christ hold to the belief that it is God's inspired and inerrant word. The living God is it's author and he inspired men to write within their own historical and literary context to specific audiences at a specific time. All of these contexts become clues that help guide us to His intended meaning. One of many gods staged a coup d'tat in heaven, or so claimed the exiled priests who wanted to assert their authority over their congregations by differentiating themselves from the competition. The only difference between the Hebrews and the other nearby cultures is that their priests claimed that the chief god they all shared had demoted his team to messenger status. In so doing, of course, they also slighted every other religion.

I know this is a fake (now) but I'm really hoping they release by the first week in April. I finally got my company to approve me a MacBook Pro 17" (was pretty easy actually, but nevertheless...) to go in tandem with my 24" iMac (2.8GHz C2D) and we have our national conference in Las Vegas this April that I'll be attending, and we'll need to do on-site video and photo editing (graphic designer here).
It was hard for IT to come in and say "ok, what do you want" (pretty much a blank check) and tell them to wait until early April. They don't blame me though, I have a Quad Core i5 750 in my Windows machine and it screams, I'll wait for the performance boost.
