It's far from last call for Carson Daly, whose late night talk show just landed an 11th season renewal at NBC.
Last Call with Carson Daly was nearly canceled a few years ago, but the show's format change — documentary style, with cameras following Daly as he interviews stars from film, TV and music — resonated with NBC executives and with viewers. As a result, NBC confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the show, which airs weeknights at 1:35 a.m.. will continue through the 2011-12 season.
"We give our viewers something unique and interesting every night to watch, and I am very proud of that," Daly said.
The decision to renew the show comes as NBC reinvests its commitment to making Daly its go-to host. He was recently tapped to host the network's upcoming singing competition The Voice.
Recent guests include Florence + the Machine, David O. Russell, Danny Boyle and the cast of Jackass 3D. The show is currently taping episodes at the South by Southwest Festival.
