Will Ghajini be able to make it to all the cinema halls in India on December 25? Though the makers have already announced the release date, it seems the film might face certain problems.
A source reveals, "Yash Raj banner's much awaited Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is releasing on December 12 in a record number of screens across India. The trial show that Aditya Chopra specially held for his all India distributors on December 7 yielded an extremely positive response and the film looks all set to become a super hit. But this all has led to a clash between the distributors of RNBDJ and those of Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini which is releasing on December 25, Thursday. Rab Ne distributors are in no mood to have a 13 day week to give way for Ghajini even in single screens. Yash Raj was the first to start the trend of grabbing maximum number of screens in multiplexes and demanding almost equal shows in the second week as well for most of their biggies. They have continued with this trend with Rab Ne and have already spoken to the multiplexes and single screens and fixed a two-week run having maximum shows."
Also, December 25 being Christmas Day, a National Holiday, the collections are bound to be good on that day for a new film. The RNBDJ distributors don't want to let go off this lucrative opportunity. Now the Ghajini distributors are in a fix as the RNBDJ distributors are in no mood to adjust.
They are now left with only three options - either release it all over India uniformly on Friday December 26 or make do with late night paid preview shows in select multiplexes or accept three- four shows in a multiplex for just December 25 and get more shows on December 26."
