Dr. Phil just lost his bid to block Natalee Holloway's mom from testifying about what happened behind the scenes when "The Dr. Phil Show" aired an exposé implicating 2 men in Natalee's death.
Deepak and Satish Kalpoe are suing Dr. Phil and CBS for defamation, claiming the show "was deceptively clothed as an investigative piece looking into the disappearance of [Natalee]" but was "in reality an abhorrent example of manufactured media sensationalism at its worst."
The two brothers, who were never charged in Natalee's death, wanted to take the deposition of Beth Holloway, Natalee's mom. According to documents obtained by TMZ, the brothers believe Beth, who was a guest on the show, was privy to information "surrounding the motives and production of the show."
Dr. Phil's lawyer claimed the deposition was just a tactic to delay their motion to throw the case out on grounds it is meritless. But a judge just issued an order green-lighting the depo.
